We are delighted to announce that The Ridings Medical Group, Peeler House Surgery and Hessle Grange Medical Practice plan to merge. The Peeler House merger with The Ridings Medical Group will take place on 15th June 2022. This will be shortly followed by Hessle Grange merging with The Ridings Medical Group on 1st July 2022.
This is an exciting development for us and, for most of our patients, there will be minimal change on a day to day basis. Patients currently registered at Hessle Grange will continue to be seen at The Grange Hessle Primary Care Centre. However, our plan does mean that the practice will no longer be operating from Peeler House Surgery and, from 15th June, medical services will be moving down the road into The Grange Hessle Primary Care Centre.
We would like to reassure everyone that we believe all practices involved will benefit from the strength and stability of being part of a larger, single practice group which will be known as The Ridings Medical Group, whilst being able to retain the individual village identities.
Merging brings a number of important benefits for us and our patients, which include:
• The potential for specialist medical staff to provide a wider range of clinical services in the community.
• The opportunity to share clinical leadership work across a larger organisation.
• The ability to achieve considerable savings and efficiencies by operating through one single practice team, which can be reinvested in patient care.
• Improved accessibility, along with increased parking facilities on The Grange Hessle site.
Nationally, many GP practices see mergers as a way of securing the future of primary care. By acting now we believe we will be better prepared to respond positively to current and future NHS policies, the NHS Long Term Plan and improve the delivery of services across the Primary Care Network. This will allow us to continue to work towards expanding and strengthening primary and ‘out of hospital’ care.
As we work towards the merger of the three practices later this year, we will be updating our teams and patients on the progress. In the meantime, if you want to know more about our plans, have any questions or would like to provide us with feedback to help with the smooth transfer, please do not hesitate to email us at email@example.com or submit your question in writing addressed to: The Ridings Medical Group, 4 Centurion Way, Brough, HU15 1AY.
To help answer some questions you may have about these changes, please take a look at our FAQs here, or at
